I need some help dreaming for the Fill the First vision. During the next few weekends we want to offer some creative tips for people to invest into relationships with unchurched friends this summer. It's a commitment to invest into the relationship once a week for 12 weeks. I'd like to come up with a top twelve list of creative investment suggestions.
Here's the criteria:
It has to be positive (uplifting and encouraging)
It has to be selfless (expecting nothing in return)
It has to be something anyone can do (not expensive or overly elaborate)
Here's three ideas to get the juices flowing:
- Do some surprise weeding in your friend's garden.
- Wash/Wax your friend's car.
- Bake your friend seven cookies, one for each day of the week, with something different that you appreciate about them written in frosting on each cookie (although I admit I could never do this one).
Email me your suggestions or leave a comment below.
4. How about e-mailing a soldier in Iraq; and basing the communication on guiding him/her to Christ. War gives you a whole different perspective on things. It is easy to bring Christ to them. They know that they need Him.

Give your neighbors a bucket of ice cream.

Positive:Every day send them a bible track in the mail.
Selfless: Do them the liberty of sorting the trash they leave every week and save the left over food for a dinner you invite them to.
Anyone can do: Go around the neighborhood and collect cans for "charity"...later buy an ipod with the dough. Then ask your friends for some itune cards. Hey, it will spark up some conversations not only about cool ways to get ipods but also a good way to infilterate the society with some Godly tunes.

Some ideas to bless people:
-pay for their dinner/coffee without them expecting it
-offer to watch their kids (or walk their dog)
-when you remember things you really like about them- make a point of saying so
-go walking / running with them
-mow their lawn when you're done with yours (my neighbor did this once!)
-cook a meal and drop it off
-give them a framed picture of the two of you together (if appropriate)
-call and really listen and ask questions before talking about yourself
-clean a busy mom's house (my sister did this when our friend Lisa had her baby) :-)
