Okay, you HAVE GOT to read this story. A retired nurse revived her brother's chicken Boo Boo by giving him mouth to beak resuscitation. She hadn't performed CPR in a while, and she wanted to see if she still had it. Here's what happened in her own words (as if I could make this up).
"I breathed into its beak and its dadgum eyes popped open. I breathed into its beak again, and its eyes popped open again. I said, 'I think this chicken's alive now. Keep it warm.'"
She also said she did not know how to find a pulse on a chicken.
This incident raises some real questions for me.
Would I take time to try to save the life of a chicken that I found lying face down in a pond?
If not, does that make me a bad person?
Where do you find a pulse on a chicken?
When Boo Boo dies for real, will they still eat him?
Hummm?
I am laughing so hard right now! I am reposting this on my own blog, thanks! Will they still eat him? Dadgummit, I think they just might. :-D

Resuscitation of a chicken is not only noble but a wonderful way of buliding ones self esteem. I had a chicken resuscitate me once...I only think it is right to return the favor. Mouth to beak one life at a time.
