Thanks to Hillside Christian for the inspiration!
Preaching is a two-way exchange. Someone speaks. Someone else gets it. Hopefully:)
Then there are those tragic Sundays when the message gets lost in translation...
In less than one day, this video has revolutionized my life. In the past, my shirts looked just as messy after folding them as they did before. But now... Now I'm ready to start my own business to help people pack for trips. Now I'm ready to start a new shirt folding small group. Now, I'm ready to get a side job at The Gap. Go get a shirt. Start practicing. Fold on:) | <>>|
This past weekend our church celebrated Ryan Bachman. He came to us in the winter of 2003 for a 4 month internship. He wound up staying over 3 years. There's not too much in our church that he hasn't done at least once. On Friday he'll load a trailer and leave for Missouri. He's pursuing God's call to plant churches overseas.
I bought my house in December 2002. Ryan came in January, 2003. He's the only roommate I've ever had at 3931 Phillips. So this past weekend I put together a little tribute video to say goodbye. Thanks to Eddie and Tim for the help.
Enjoy, and remember Ryan:)

Each week during our Conversations with Jesus series we're introducing that week's small group focus via video. The video also works to launch the meet and greet time during the service. Here's the video we showed yesterday.
For what it's worth, Chris and I are considering taking our act on the road.
He'll sing.
I'll groove.

We've had our share of facility miracles at Church of the King. 6 months into our church plant we were given our current building, almost 1 million dollars worth of assets, debt free. For the past 4 years we've affectionately referred to our building as the Miracle on 12 Mile.
The Oaks, our first church plant, goes public Easter Sunday. Why am I not surprised God gave us a new facility miracle.
Here's the story.

Here's the much anticipated release of the 10,000 day video. A few notes:
The shortest I could get this thing was 15 1/2 minutes. My original cut was about 23 minutes, then I got it to 17, and finally to this version. The amount of footage I had to get through was enormous.
There were some great moments that I just couldn't get in. For example, I had a great time having various people throughout the day comment on Scriptures that mentioned the number 10,000, including an unforgettable moment from Mike Kern. I couldn't figure out a way to get those in. My hope is to put together a follow up clip with those 5 scenes.
Finally, I expect great things in the next few years from all my friends who are about to hit 10,000 days. If you've turned 27 within the last 4 months then it could be any day now!

I had a great time at Current this morning hanging with all our ministry volunteers who refused to be deterred by the snow! We showed part two of the Current video. Some of you will remember me going to sleep a few weeks ago. Well, here's the dream.

I received this video in an email a few weeks ago and thought I'd save it for the right Monday. Today feels like the day.
So laugh...relate...unwind!
